The American Advertising Federation, Roanoke Chapter (AAF Roanoke), is now accepting applications from non-profit organizations for its fourth annual CreateAthon®. The event is a 24-hour creative marathon, beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, that provides local non-profit organizations with free services such as ad design, logo creation, and website development.
At the 2011 CreateAthon®, more than 40 local creative professionals helped 17 non-profit organizations, donating more than $100,000 of their time. Some organizations that received assistance last year include Blue Ridge Literacy, Roanoke Childrens Theatre, and the Science Museum of Western Virginia.
AAF Roanoke has a long history of supporting the communities that it serves. Historically, the club would choose one non-profit organization annually to support with free creative services. In 2009, AAF Roanoke changed its public service model by joining the national CreateAthon® network. It was the first professional firm, rather than independent agency, to join.
The application deadline is Tuesday, July 31.
