AAF Roanoke’s Mentorship Program offers members the opportunity to grow professionally through meaningful one-on-one connections. Whether you’re looking to gain new skills, explore new career paths, or expand your network, this program is here to support you with no long-term pressure or commitment.
How to Get Partnered with a Mentor
1. Submit the Mentee Form
Fill out a short online form to tell us what you’re looking for in a mentor.
2. Review by the Mentorship Chair
Our Mentorship Chair will review your submission. If needed, they’ll schedule a brief call to learn more.
3. Behind-the-Scenes Matching
Based on your goals and preferences, the Mentorship Chair will identify and reach out to potential mentors on your behalf.
4. You’re Introduced
If a mentor is available and interested, the Chair will send an intro email and encourage you to schedule a 30- to 45-minute introductory meeting.
5. Confirming the Connection
After your first meeting, the Chair will follow up with both of you to ask:
“Would you like to continue this as an official mentor-mentee relationship?”
6. If It’s a Match…
Great! From there, the relationship is mentee-led. We recommend meeting quarterly, but it’s up to you to decide what works best.
