Media Panelists
Erin Brookshier / WSLS 10 NBC Affiliate
Erin is a news producer and reporter for WSLS TV 10, who happens to be home‐grown from the Roanoke Valley and a Virginia Tech grad in communications. She currently produces the noon newscast and is also the Virginia Today traffic reported and is a great fit for our panel as she’s covered current happenings and presented movie reviews in addition to her reporting and knowledge of our local and regional market.
Jonathan Carlin / YouTube
Jonathan is representing what we’ve been calling “new media” for far too long now, as we’ve got to come up with a new designation since this type of virtual and digital publishing has truly evolved to mainstream. With his brother Ben and their SuperCarlinBrothers channel on YouTube, he earned the much sought after silver button award for mass volume followers, and has currently amassed over 300,000 subscribers to the entertainment and media review site, making him a great fit for our panel.
Joanne Anderson / New River Valley Magazine
Joanne Anderson is the managing editor of New River Valley magazine, now celebrating its 10th anniversary. She’s an author, editor, and freelance writer, has owned and operated a bed‐and‐breakfast, loves horses, and was recognized as the most valuable contributor for the Blue Ridge Business Journal. Her long trail of interviewing people and working in media provides a perspective for critique and evaluation that should serve a panel on contemporary advertising in a remarkable way.
Greg Roberts / WFIR Radio
Greg Roberts is a sports guy and recognized media celebrity in that field which suits him just fine. He’s covered anything and everything sports‐related and he broadcasts the Greg Roberts Live sports talk daily radio show on WFIR AM 960 and FM 107.3 at the 5 ‘o clock hour. If you attended last year’s Super Bowl panel you’ll remember Greg served as our moderator… so now we get to hear what he really thinks.
