Inclusion in Outreach

Join AAF Roanoke as we host Kat Pascal (Latinas Network and the Hispanic Business Advisor for the SBDC) with Karen Dubón Sayre and Dr. Kasey Richardson (Resonance Research & Advocacy) as they discuss how to create authentic change in your organization’s marketing efforts to appeal to and represent a broader audience.

About the panel:

Kat Pascal [she, her], Kp Strategies Agency, is an experienced consultant and business advisor with a demonstrated history in operations management. She has worked in banking and manufacturing, managed multiple small businesses, and served non-profits as well. Her skillset includes coaching, sales, team building, and business development. Kat started Spotless America in 2011 and has co-owned Farmburguesa Restaurants since their inception in 2018. She also founded Latinas Network, a regional non-profit for Latina professionals, in 2020. She serves on several boards, including Local Colors, Casa Latina, the Vinton Chamber of Commerce, the Grandin Village Business Association, and the 110 Society by the Taubman Museum. Kat has continued her education at Virginia Western Community College and earned a certificate in Women’s Entrepreneurship from Cornell University. She and her partner Jimmy Delgado are proud parents to two sons: Julian and Jacob, and three playful pups: Jax, Jackie, and Skye. In her free time, Kat enjoys dancing.

Dr. Kasey Richardson [he, they] founded Resonance Research & Advocacy and serves as lead consultant. He strategizes on and carries out integrative diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) work, and guides consultants on various projects. Serving as an advocate for DEI and disability awareness for many years, he has previously held roles in sales, non-profit, and education. Kasey earned a Ph.D. with a concentration in Research and Evaluation from Virginia Tech and is a global collaborator. He is fluent in Spanish and gets by conversationally in Portuguese and Italian. For fun, he enjoys lifting, traveling, the beach, and gaming.

Karen Dubón Sayre [she, her] is a senior consultant at Resonance Research & Advocacy. She is a first-generation immigrant from El Salvador and has worked in access and inclusion for nearly 20 years. With experience in applying research, traveling with international charities to provide translation services, and supporting medical professionals, her wide skillset is an asset to our team. Her Master’s degree is in Leadership from Notre Dame University of Maryland and she completed her Bachelor’s degree at Roanoke College. She is also fluent in English and Spanish. In her free time, Karen loves to hike and cook gourmet meals with her family.
