Join us for Embracing Burnout with Dr. Kate Steiner, presented in partnership with the Roanoke Blacksburg Technology Council (RBTC). Enjoy lunch on us, purchase mocktails from a special event menu (with additional drinks available for purchase from Starr Hill Brewery), and spend your midday learning how to actually navigate burnout — not just push through it.

Dr. Steiner, author of Feeling Crispy?, will share a practical, research-backed approach to recognizing burnout, building resilience, and creating space for meaningful self-care — even when work demands feel nonstop.

About Dr. Kate Steiner

Dr. Kate Steiner is a Burnout Recovery expert, author, counselor, consultant, and founder of LIFT Wellness Consulting. As a professional mental health counselor, she supports her clients from burnout to recovery by developing a self-reflective plan that identifies and prepares for burn events by addressing all areas of wellness.

Holding a Master of Counseling from Idaho State University and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Wyoming, her practice is grounded in the research-based Steiner Self-Reflective Sustainability and Wellness (SSRSW) model, published in the Journal of Sorority and Fraternity Life Research and Practice. This model stems from her own experience with burnout.

Dr. Steiner has been a researcher in wellness and burnout for over 17 years. Her work has been published in consumer outlets including The LIST, Authority Magazine, Thrive Global, Daytime Blue Ridge (NBC), Bloom TV (WTTA), FOX Good Day Washington, and myfitnesspal, as well as industry publications Essentials and Perspectives Magazine.

She is the author of Feeling Crispy? A Guide to Burnout Recovery and host of The From Burnout to Recovery Show with Dr. Kate podcast. Her mission is to end the burnout cycle for professionals so they can live happier, healthier lives.
