Cards Against Humanity is a party game for horrible people. Unlike most of the party games you’ve played before, Cards Against Humanity is as despicable and awkward as you and your friends.
The game is simple. Each round, one player asks a question from a black card, and everyone else answers with their funniest white card.
Ads Against Humanity is the theme for this year’s Western Virginia American Advertising Awards. Like most of the Awards themes you’ve attended before, Ads Against Humanity is as fun and quirky as you and your creative team.
The Awards are simple. Each year, you submit your most creative work, and judges from outside our market award the most exceptional pieces from the entries submitted.
On March 4, 2017, we’ll gather at Charter Hall in the historic City Market Building and celebrate the best of the industry with food, drinks and some great surprises. Tickets are $65, but AAF Roanoke Members get in for free.
The schedule looks like the following:
6:30 – 7:30 Cocktail Hour: Hors d’oeuvres with Cash Bar (your first two drink tickets, sponsored by Two Robs, are included with your ticket purchase).
8:00 – 9:30 Awards Show: featuring The Oreo Brothers, Ryan Austin and Antoine Wilson
10:00 – 11:30 After Party: Hors d’oeuvres with Cash Bar featuring The Dundies, presented by 101.5 The Mountain, and Best of Show Champagne Toast, sponsored by ndp

The attire is “Creative Cocktail”, black tie is optional.
The first 48 people who purchase tickets will be able to play Ads Against Humanity during our cocktail hour and enjoy a souvenir mini-packet of Cards Against Humanity playing cards.

“I grew up wanting to be a matador — just like Bugs Bunny. But once I realized I wasn’t living in a Looney Tunes cartoon, I turned my aspirations toward becoming an astronaut… then a chef… then finally a writer. For over 10 years, Lindsay has been dedicated to the unrelenting pursuit of delivering unique, effective media solutions that bring a company’s message to life. Currently, she is Associate Creative Director at Designsensory where her areas of expertise include concepting, branding, interactive and print design. Lindsay oversees the creation of integrated campaign designs from start to finish. Lindsay earned a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. She also holds a minor in Studio Art with a concentration in drawing.
Lindsay’s work has been featured in Print and How magazines, the LogoLounge book series, and in exhibits at the 1010, Downtown and IronWood galleries. She has won Best of Show Overall (2016 District 7 ADDY®), Best of Show Interactive (2016 District 7 ADDY®), various Gold and Silver ADDY® Awards, a Graphic Design USA magazine award and her work will be archived at the Memphis College of Art as part of the juried AIGA Ten Show.
Fall 2016, Lindsay taught branding as a guest lecturer at the University of Tennessee. Each spring Lindsay enjoys being a guest reviewer for the University of Tennessee’s graphic design senior thesis presentations. Additionally, she has reviewed portfolios and given presentations for design students at UTK and Pellissippi State Community College.
Lindsay is a former president of AIGA Knoxville. During her tenure, she organized local AIGA events and collaborated with nationally-known design professionals and educators across the United States to support the interests of those engaged in the design community.
Elliott Anderson Wiley, a four time Emmy and five time ADDY Award winner, has more than 25 years of experience as a business owner. A graduate of Howard University, with advanced education at Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business, Elliott’s career includes creative and management positions with print, radio, public television and commercial television institutions.
In 1991 Elliott founded REJ & Associates, Inc., a place where ideas imagined become ideas produced. His advertising company provides print, still photography, broadcast, internet and management solutions to help drive consumer demand for customer ideas, products and services. Some of his company’s clients include Maryland Public Television, Hearst Television, GKV Advertising, TBC, Inc., Miles Marketing, Excidion, Inc., the Maryland State Lottery, the U.S. Air Force Office of Scientific Research, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, U.S. Department of Defense and TLC Beatrice.
Elliott is a member of the American Advertising Federation and Board Member of the Baltimore Chapter (AAFB); a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity; a former Adjunct Professor at Howard University; and is active in other community organizations. He has received an AAF Lifetime Achievement Award. Elliott is married with two children and lives in Cockeysville, Maryland.
