AAF Roanoke honors Lindy Adams and John Anstey with Silver Medal Award
Roanoke, Va. (October 24, 2016) – AAF Roanoke recognized Lindy Adams and John Anstey with the American Advertising Federation’s highest honor, the Silver Medal Award, at a ceremony on Thursday, October 20.
The Silver Medal Award was established by the American Advertising Federation in 1959 to recognize men and women who have made outstanding contributions to advertising and who have been active in furthering the industry’s standards, creative excellence and responsibility in areas of social concern.
Silver Medal recipients have achieved success within an advertising agency, or as an advertiser, media or advertising service. They demonstrate outstanding creative ability and a consistent, high degree of original thinking in their field. Silver Medal recipients have worked to increase the stature and raise the standards of the advertising profession. Finally, they contribute to their community by being active in civic, religious, or other groups dedicated to human or social welfare.
Lindy Adams has been a fixture in the Roanoke advertising community for many years. Through the years, there were many times that Lindy served as the glue that held the AAF together. Along the way, she worked in both media and on the agency side, and today is President of System4 Advertising. The body of work in her career demonstrates dedication to craft and community.
Committed to public service, John Anstey has made an indelible mark on the community by contributing pro bono work for numerous area nonprofit organizations. His company, Anstey Hodge, has a national footprint in senior living marketing. He is a successful developer, and a dedicated father and husband.
This was the first time in AAF Roanoke’s history that two Silver Medal recipients were honored in one ceremony. In addition, this year also marks 50 years since AAF Roanoke’s very first Silver Medal was awarded. The first recipient was John Will Creasy, a legend in advertising, culture, and public service in our region.
