Shine Award

Recognizing the best of public service.

       

The AAF Roanoke Shine Award is meant to recognize the outstanding work by an organization or individual in the area of community or public service. The award is limited to community service efforts completed in the past year. Nominations of an individual or organization is not limited to membership with AAF Roanoke.

Nomination for Shine Award

A committee will review all applications. The recipient of the Shine Award will be announced at the Western Virginia American Advertising Awards show. For questions about submitting a nomination, contact Ananda Gilmore at ananda.gilmore@deltadentalva.com.

What makes a great nomination?

A great award nomination starts with a stellar member of the industry that has gone above and beyond their day-to-day job to make significant contributions to the community. They do not have to be members of AAF, but we definitely love it when they are. Be detailed in your nomination; it’s the small things that can make the biggest impact.

  • Winning awards will be considered from criteria such as: partnering with local non-profit organizations; mentoring area youth in the field of advertising, marketing, design, media (etc.); creating scholarships or endowment opportunities for students in the field of advertising; or by providing goods and services to area non-profits, as some examples. All examples should have been completed in this most recent, past year and the winner will be announced during the Western Virginia Awards Gala.
