Government Relations

AAF Roanoke contributes to the national efforts to protect the integrity of our industry.

The AAF was founded with the purpose to self-regulate the advertising industry and uphold the highest business standards.

Today, the AAF continues to protect and promote advertising at all levels of government through efforts ranging from local grassroots activities to national lobbying.

AAF Roanoke’s Government Relations committee contributes to the national efforts at a local level by:

  • Proactively forging relationships with local and state legislators while keeping them up-to-date on the current impact that the advertising industry has on the economy
  • Monitoring legal issues surrounding the advertising industry on an ongoing basis
  • Keeping the AAF Roanoke Board of Directors and members informed as issues arise that could affect the industry and their businesses
  • Determining a strategy of how to best address legislative issues when they arise and coordinating these plans and execution with other AAF efforts at a national level

AAF Roanoke urges its members to monitor government legislation and policies which will affect the advertising industry and the industries of your clients. It’s important to review voting records regardless of party affiliation and bring issues directly to your elected officials that will help or negatively impact business in our region and country. As issues arrive, we will send emails and post alerts on social media to help you keep in front of possible issues. Please contact us with any questions or comments you may have.
