Today, the AAF continues to protect and promote advertising at all levels of government through efforts ranging from local grassroots activities to national lobbying.
AAF Roanoke’s Government Relations committee contributes to the national efforts at a local level by:
AAF Roanoke urges its members to monitor government legislation and policies which will affect the advertising industry and the industries of your clients. It’s important to review voting records regardless of party affiliation and bring issues directly to your elected officials that will help or negatively impact business in our region and country. As issues arrive, we will send emails and post alerts on social media to help you keep in front of possible issues. Please contact us with any questions or comments you may have.
Advertising generates sales and jobs in Virginia. Advertising supported 28.5 million American jobs in 2020, by spurring sales for producers as well as revenue for advertisers, according to The Economic Impact of Advertising on the US Economy. Few other services have as broad an effect on the overall economy. Every advertising job supports 51 jobs across other industries.
