Public Service

We believe in giving back to the ad community through nonprofit service.

Get involved and give back to the industry that’s helped you grow.

Public service is ingrained in who we are, from agencies helping with pro bono projects to working with students planning their careers to volunteering to support this organization. It’s a shared value for AAF members across the nation.

AAF Roanoke includes a charitable nonprofit designed to promote advertising education, support public service initiatives, and connect nonprofits and ad professionals. Donations also help fund student programs, including cash prizes in the Student American Advertising Awards. AAF Roanoke also makes an annual contribution to District 3 as an Advertising Education Sponsor (AES), which supports student participation in the National Student Ad Competition. (Individuals can also make contributions to the District 3 AES fund.)

Locally, we have hosted and continue to participate in a variety of public services projects and have a charitable nonprofit organization attached to AAF Roanoke that is dedicated to advertising education.

Past projects include:

  • Elementary Advertising Awards
  • CareerQuest
  • AdScape
  • Create-A-Thon
  • Portfolio Reviews

Buzz4Good

You may have seen the “buzz” about Buzz4Good on Blue Ridge PBS or YouTube. Buzz is a television series that features local pros helping nonprofits develop better marketing and ad campaigns. Many of the pros are AAF members giving back to the community as a whole. Watch episodes or contact us to learn how you can get involved.
